My research is focused on the function and physiology of blood platelets and their interactions with the coagulation system. A main theme has been to work in the border between technology, biology and medicine to develop and use new methods and technologies to study platelets, based on techniques such as flow cytometry, free oscillation rheometry and recently microcontact printing (techniques developed during my time at the Biomedical Diagnostics Institute (BDI) in Dublin, see
